Mas Macià

The family-owned Can Macià estate in Odena - around 50km north west of Barcelona and just 10km from the foothills of Montserrat - dates back 800 years. Jordi Casanovas Bohigas and his daughter Maria Casanovas Giró run the winery and estate. The estate consists of over 35 hectares of vineyard, with a further 50 hectares at their Can Batllevell estate in Gelida where the limestone soils and Mediterranean climate lead to early-maturing grapes. They have access to high quality grapes and some vines over 50 years old. At 450m altitude the estate is the 2nd highest in the region.
